Here’s Ken on his way to Legends in Medina wearing his own creation, the Santa Cowboy Hat. Available for purchase soon! Just kidding. But I bet people would totally buy these things.

Happy Hanukkah! Was pleasantly surprised to see this cute little menorah sitting on the front desk when I came into work today. I think one of the greatest thing about the “Holidays” is that it is just that, the holidays, not the holiday. Everyone is celebrating and happy and I love that the place that I work at includes everyone. Just waiting for the Kwanzaa decor.

After posting that picture of Tim from way back when I promised to bring in a funny old picture of myself for him. Well Tim and Ken are both having a field day with this calling me everything from that dude to Manny, Man-duh and Man Casey. So there is your revenge Tim.

Tim was kind enough to share an old photo with me. Being the great friend and co-worker I am I decided to snap a picture of it with my cell phone and share it with you all! Enjoy! Just another hot slice of hunk from your friends at WQMX!
So my brother Michael is serving with the Marines in Afghanistan. So for his birthday I made him this video. Go check it out!

So at our last Rising Star Showcase with Steel Magnolia I announced to the room that it was both Tim Phillips and Uncle Charlie’s Birthdays the following day. I then led everyone in singing Happy Birhtday to the two of them after Charlie begged me not to say anything. He swore he would get his revenge. Well when they say revenge is sweet they aren’t kidding. But in this case revenge was sweet for me! I came in this evening to find the coolest Marines hat in my cubby. Stuffed inside was a note from Charlie that said he told me he would get back at me but he does so with presents. He went on to explain that this hat was given to him by his grandmother only three weeks before she passed away. He said she was always so proud of him for being a marine and that I am always so proud of my brother for being a marine and he wanted me to have it. That is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me and I just really wanted to share it with everyone. Thanks Uncle Charlie. It is making me feel closer to Michael already!

So I came home last night feeling like I was losing control of my life. I had had a string of completely chaotic days and I felt like I was slowly losing control of my home, my children and my sanity. At midnight, on a school night no less, I started cleaning my house. I cleaned the living room. I cleaned the kitchen. I did the dishes. I did laundry. I cleaned the dining room and office. I even cleaned my bedroom, working around my husband and brother who were playing Halo. Then, I set my sites on that laundry chute.
A few weeks ago we had a pipe completely clog in the bathroom. It had been very slow draining since we moved in but this was it. So they had to tear up the floor in my bathroom to replace it. This revealed to me that our laundry chute turned diagonally at the floor. Well when they, and by they I mean my husband, went to put the floor back down he put a board down first. In the process he bent the laundry chute closed a bit and never told anyone. So for several days the girls were putting their school clothes in the chute at the end of the day and I realized, hey, where are all of their uniforms? Then it occurred to me what was going on. I have had clogs in the chute before but this was different. I couldn’t understand what was so difficult. Then he told me about bending it closed a bit. Great. The clothes sit there for two weeks until finally I cannot take it anymore.
After cleaning the entire house, I thought about that clogged laundry chute. I go get my brothers fishing pole and get to work. After ninety minutes of strife and struggle the clothes are freed! I am beyond happy. I was even excited when Marley got up in the middle of the night to go potty because I couldn’t wait to tell her that she could wear her jumper and her sweater to school the next day.
It may be something so simple and so stupid but today, I am content being the master of my own universe.
